About Artist Ilmar Reinvald
Ilmar’s introduction to painting was in art classes in architecture school. He reintroduced himself to this medium after retiring from architectural practice and moving to Waimea, on the island of Hawaii, in 2008. He now paints on a regular basis with North Kohala Plein Air Painters.
Ilmar finds the challenge in his painting to express the relationship between the softness of nature and hard man made objects. This relationship could be harmonious, clashing or somewhere in-between. Ilmar hopes that his exploration of these relationships in his work will find interest and a positive emotional response in the viewer. |
